USC Summer Seminars

Are you looking for something different to do this summer?  Want to meet new people, enjoy Los Angeles and challenge yourself, all at the same time?

Discover the USC Summer Seminars. As a high school student, you can invest your summer break in completing a university course at USC. At the same time, you'll experience residential life on the USC campus and visit LA's world famous attractions.

USC Summer Certificates

Taste the college curriculum in two-week short courses. Open to students who have completed at least the freshman (9th grade) year of high school.

The USC Summer Science Camp for Middle School Girls invites young women to be a part of a community of scientists. Students will discover and explore the aquatic and terrestrial life of Catalina Island and its surrounding waters.

Exploring the Environment
This field-oriented camp challenges students to explore ecological and biological principles through an interactive approach to learning:

  • field and laboratory research,
  • self-guided experiments and
  • educational simulations

These activities instruct students about the interaction among physical, chemical, and biological components of the environment. Students will also learn about the impact that human activities can have on the environment. Science is integrated with cultural and social studies to offer a well-rounded view of an island ecosystem.
