Israel Quest

Discover Israel on Shorashim's Israel Quest!
Explore the country with Israeli teenagers while being led by experienced and fun Israeli and American guides. Hike through the hills of the Golan, swim in hidden waterfalls, kayak down the Jordan river and rappel into a crater. Experience shabbat in the homes of your new Israeli friends and learn about the rich history, culture and current events of Israel. 
Participate in one of the following three day specialty tracks:
  • Israeli army boot camp and action adventure
  • Hike along Israel's National Trail through creeks, vineyards and mountains
  • Volunteer with Israeli University students as they face the environmental and developmental challenges of building a community in the desert.  
  • Explore Israel's vibrant film, music and theater community through the lens of an artist.


CCP Germany/Poland & Israel Adventure


Join Shorashim for the experience of a lifetime! Travel with Israeli peers and learn about Israel through their eyes. Take this dynamic journey for the first time through Germany, Poland and Israel. Leave the tour bus behind. Become a part of the experience that is Israel!

This year Shorashim has added Germany to the itinerary in addition to Poland to help further learn about Jewish roots in Europe.  Spend four days in Poland exploring Jewish life before the Holocaust. Hear stories from an accompanying survivor about growing up Jewish in Eastern Europe as well as many personal memories.  In Germany, we will learn about the past, present and future of the community and spend Shabbat at a local synagogue.

In Israel, you are joined by Israeli peers and together you experience the awesome adventure of Israel. Hike in some of the most spectacular settings in Israel; be a part of the vibrant culture of Modern Israel. Learn about how your Israeli friends feel about politics, the army, music, movies, and more. Create friendships that will last a lifetime!

Chicago-area participants will join with Israeli peers from Chicago's Partnership 2000 region, Kiryat Gat - Lachish - Shafir. Shorashim is the Chicago Community Project (CCP) sponsored in cooperation with the Jewish Federation/Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago.
