Sustainable Summer

The Sustainable Summer Experience

Our summer adventures in sustainability are for students age 15 to 18. Travel to Ecuador with us this summer and study concepts such as organic farming and sustainable development while also exploring a foreign culture. Join other environmentally-minded teens on meaningful and exciting summer abroad programs for high school students in South America that go far beyond the typical community service or volunteer trip.

What Makes Sustainable Summer different?

Our Students

Our programs are specifically for students  interested in sustainability. Some students are focused on ecology and science; others on humanitarian or policy issues, but all are future environmental leaders.

Our Curriculum

We use sustainability as a framework for understanding a cultural travel experience. Our programs feature expert-led workshops on specific environmental issues and a structured academic curriculum.

Our Value

We’re a small non-profit with deep experience. We keep our overhead low and don’t generate a profit, which means almost all of your tuition dollars are going towards your program and a safe, meaningful travel experience.

Sustainable Summer is an exciting alternative to a standard service learning or adventure travel program for any high school student interested in environmental issues, ecology, food and agriculture, renewable energy, natural resource management, biodiversity and wildlife conservation, development economics, social justice, and global issues. Go Sustainable this summer and discover a new way of thinking about the world and your place in it!
