Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Camp
The Young Artist Intensive program encourages students to explore their talents in the performing arts. The program offers a challenging level of instruction, and our class placement process ensures that all students enjoy a curriculum appropriate to their stage of development.
All students are cast in a theatrical or musical presentation, OR a dance production. Class placements and production castings are held the day following student arrival. Residential students are required to take a minimum of four classes a day. The program is demanding and requires students to juggle a busy schedule. The session concludes with two evenings of public performances held during the last week of camp. The final Friday of the session is Showcase Day, and parents are encouraged to attend. Students spend the entire day sharing what they have learned in each class.
Artist Intensive students have five class periods per day, and can choose from a selection of dance, theater and musical theater core classes, with electives in dramatic writing, visual arts and equestrian. Students cast in the public performances must attend evening and weekend rehearsals. Students also have the option of signing up for fee-based activities, including whitewater rafting, semi-private riding lessons, and private instrumental music or voice lessons. Private voice lessons (one 30 minute lesson per week) are offered to students who qualify based on their class placement. Other Young Artist Intensive students interested in private voice lessons will be accommodated as space permits.
