Farther Foundation is pleased to welcome Yesenia Ulloa to its board of directors. Indeed, this is a welcoming back for Yesenia who is one of our program alumni from 2015. Farther Foundation is fortunate to have Yesenia contributing her knowledge, skills, enthusiasm, and point of view on behalf of our mission and the students we serve!

Yesenia’s family immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico when she was very young. In her original scholarship application to Farther Foundation in 2015 she told us that she would describe herself as sociable, determined, and a leader. She also said she hoped to become an engineer.

Today, Yesenia is a graduate of Whitney M. Young Magnet High School and currently a student at Stanford University, where she is expected to graduate in June 2022 with a degree in Engineering with a focus in Product Design. She is fascinated by the potential of design and data to serve public challenges. Yesenia serves as a research analyst for the Stanford Human Trafficking Data Lab and is also a UI/UX designer at Accenture. She dreams of experiencing Korean culture one day post-graduation and empowering people younger than her to travel meaningfully.
